Duration: 12 months Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial accounting support in all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the General Ledger, ensuring accounts are prepared in line with accounting standards and Group accounting and taxation policies. This role will cover responsibility in delivery of monthly financial accounts. The role requires the accurate and timely processing of the prime accounting entries involved in producing Brush Electrical Machines financial records and demands accuracy, flexibility, commitment and a team-based approach to carry out tasks across a wide range of activities. The role also acts as a deputy to the Financial Controller. Role Responsibility Month end general ledger close You will support the Financial Controller in ensuring a smooth and efficient month end close. This will include creating and posting monthly journal entries, intercompany reporting and reconciling general ledger accounts. Adherence to tight deadlines and ensuring accuracy of the prime accounting records is essential. VAT Returns You will ensure prompt and accurate completion of monthly VAT returns for Brush Electrical Machines Ltd and its other Branches. Reporting Strong balance sheet review and account reconciliation process Assist the Financial Controller in ensuring local statutory and tax reporting obligations are met. Completing ONS surveys. Fixed Assets Management Maintaining the FAR and own the Capex process from start to finish. SAP implementation Assist the Financial Controller in providing the financial accounting support necessary for the smooth implementation of SAP. Provide Ad Hoc support to the Financial Controller as required To include supporting internal and external reporting requirements and supporting the wider business Close working relationship with global controllership teams Act as cover team for colleagues during holidays/sickness Qualifications and experience You will be part-qualified in CIMA, ACCA or AAT, you will ideally have 3 or more years of finance experience which you would have gained in a simpler industry. You will have thorough understanding of basic accounting principles, strong numerical skills, keen eye for detail, willingness to work collaboratively and flexibly to meet the demands of the monthly reporting cycle. To succeed in this role, you will have the ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines and have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the business and external stakeholders. Technical abilities Financial Accounting experience essential Computer skills: advanced excel (essential), SAP (desirable), ERP/Finance systems improvement and process improvement/simplification Understanding of accounting standards
