Contractor's Quantity Surveyor
Location: Sevenoaks, Kent
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience - £60k -£100k depending on experience.
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our contractor team and support the successful commercial delivery of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working for a main contractor and be confident managing project costs from pre-construction through to final account.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the commercial aspects of multiple construction projects.
Prepare and submit interim valuations and payment applications.
Identify, price, and negotiate variations and change orders.
Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including contract administration.
Monitor project costs, cash flow, and profitability.
Prepare monthly cost/value reconciliations and commercial reports.
Negotiate final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
Ensure contractual compliance and manage project risk.
Work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to achieve commercial objectives.
Requirements:
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor.
Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts.
Experience in subcontract procurement and commercial management.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial management software.
