A great opportunity has arisen for a proactive and detail‑oriented Finance Assistant to join the finance team. This role provides essential administrative and operational support to ensure accurate financial records and smooth daily operations. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the ideal candidate will be organised, dependable, and confident working with numbers.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable (AP)
1. Processing and inputting supplier invoices, matching to purchase orders
2. Managing and inputting expense claims (credit card and cash)
3. Maintaining the expense management system
4. Preparing domestic and international payment runs
5. Reconciling vendor statements and responding to supplier queries
Accounts Receivable (AR)
6. Monitoring debtor accounts and carrying out credit control activities
7. Maintaining automated dunning processes and issuing chaser letters
8. Managing customer credit limits in line with approved checks
9. Ensuring minimal aged debt, especially over 90 days
Banking & Reconciliations
10. Posting daily bank transactions
11. Performing bank and credit card reconciliations
General Ledger & Reporting
12. Assisting with month‑end and year‑end close
13. Preparing and posting journals
14. Supporting monthly management accounts and financial reporting
Audits &pliance
15. Maintaining clear and organised financial records
16. Supporting internal and external audits and monthly P&L analysis
Administrative Support
17. Processing stock makes adjustments at the start of each month.
18. Handling finance‑related queries from internal and external departments
19. Assisting senior finance colleagues with reporting and general tasks
20. Ensuring CAPA processes and timelines are met in line withpany procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications
21. Education: Good general education, including GCSEs in English and Maths
22. Professional Qualifications: Studying for or holding an AAT (or equivalent) is advantageous
23. Experience: Experience in an office environment, ideally in finance or administration
24. Technical Skills:Strong Excel skills (, pivot tables, lookups)Familiarity with accounting software (, Oracle NetSuite)
