We are working alongside a leading Pre-Clinical CRO specialising in Neuroscience to a hire a Deputy Operations Manager for their site in Sandwich, Kent.

The Client:
We are in collaboration with a global pre clinical CRO specialising in Neuroscience research. The role is based in Sandwich, Kent. Reporting to the Site Director and Operations Manager, as part of their expansion they are searching for a Deputy Operations Manager for their UK site.
This is a predominantly lab-based role will be to develop and execute relevant disease in vivo models to generate robust pharmacological and disease-relevant biological data for preclinical research studies for biotech or pharma companies.
This role will also assist the Operations Manager with overseeing Home Office compliance and training & competencies of the team. This person will continue to support all Invivo studies in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
* Taking on mentoring, supervisory and line management responsibilities as required
* Will make decisions with Ops manager around compliance to protect the business
* Co-ordinates teamwork in the Operations manager’s absence
* Ensuring all Standard Operating Procedures Health and Safety and regulatory requirements are adhered to
* Ensuring appropriate use of animals in compliance with all regulatory requirements and required records · Ensuring all Standard Operating Procedures Health and Safety and regulatory requirements are adhered to
* Be an effective, collaborative hands-on member of the in vivo team, contributing to the overall work of the team as required Drive and initiative
* Proactive in developing new disease models.
* Makes decisions with autonomy within area of expertise
* Applies knowledge/awareness of work to influence protocol/workplan development.
* Contributes to the company's scientific development strategy
Requirements:
* Background in research, particularly In Vivo research with experience in Animal Welfare and facility management
* Experience maintaining compliance to meet Home Office standards
* Preclinical expertise in rodent disease models is essential
* Experience carrying out risk assessments
* Prepared to be hands-on when executing preclinical studies
