About the SEN Teaching Assistant Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Havering, your responsibilities may include:
Providing 1:1 support for pupils with Autism or SEMH
Delivering targeted interventions as a small group SEN Teaching Assistant
Supporting children with EHCPs
Assisting the class teacher with differentiated learning strategies
Helping regulate behaviour using positive reinforcement techniquesSchools are particularly keen to appoint a confident SEN Teaching Assistant who can remain calm under pressure and maintain clear boundaries while being nurturing and supportive.

Experience within primary or specialist SEN schools
Strong understanding of Autism and behavioural support strategies
