Are you a skilled chef with a passion for food and a desire to inspire young people? Do you want to use your culinary expertise in a vibrant school environment to help students learn about food preparation, nutrition, and safety?
We're partnering with Secondary schools across Daventry seeking a reliable and organised Chef to work as a Food Technician within their Food Technology departments from October 2025. This role is ideal for chefs who want a rewarding term-time position making a positive impact on students aged 11-18.
What You'll Do:
1. Prepare and organise ingredients, equipment, and resources for practical cooking lessons
2. Support teachers and students during food preparation and cooking activities
3. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety in school kitchens
4. Assist with stock control, ordering supplies, and managing kitchen inventory
5. Set up and clear away before and after lessons to ensure smooth operations
6. Promote a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for young learners
Who You Are:
7. Experienced chef or caterer with practical food preparation skills
8. Knowledgeable about food hygiene and health & safety (Level 2 Food Safety certificate desirable)
9. Well-organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
10. Comfortable working alongside young people in a busy classroom setting
11. A team player with a positive, professional approach
12. Willing to undertake training such as First Aid, COSHH, or Food Safety as required
