Reporting to the Accountant, you will support the Finance team in ensuring the monthly management accounts are completed to meet required deadlines.
You will be expected to:
1. Assist and ensure accurate and timely payments and accounts are appropriately serviced
2. Own & reconcile the bank account/ cash book, including writing and banking cheques
3. Maintain & reconcile petty cash
4. Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records
5. Input expenses, mileage, and commissions
6. Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable)
7. Assist with Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Returns
8. Ensure accurate accounting for VAT, subcontractors' tax, and CITB payments as appropriate
9. Assist in ad hoc projects, tasks, and reports as required
What you’ll need:
1. Excellent attention to detail
2. Possibly training for an accounting qualification or wishing to commence studying
3. Ability to work to tight deadlines
4. Strong reconciliation, mathematical, and organizational skills
