Start your Story.We are looking for a motivated Apprentice Fitter to join our maintenance team in our Beckingham Depot and begin a practical, hands-on career in plant and on-track machinery maintenance.This apprenticeship offers structured training, real workplace experience and the opportunity to develop into a skilled engineering professional, working alongside experienced Fitters from day one.The RoleAs an Apprentice Fitter, you will learn how to maintain, inspect and repair plant and on-track plant machinery and attachments, ensuring equipment is kept to required safety and industry standards.You will gradually build technical knowledge and confidence while contributing to the smooth operation of our plant fleet.What Youll Be DoingYears 12: Foundation & Skills DevelopmentWork alongside qualified Fitters in workshop environmentsLearn the principles of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel and electrical systemsCarry out maintenance inspections, servicing and repairsInterpret service manuals, parts lists and technical diagramsAssist with pre-delivery and post-delivery inspectionsAccurately complete maintenance records using our systemsDevelop strong awareness of safety and compliance standardsYear 3: Increased ResponsibilityAttend operational sites to complete inspections, servicing and repairsProvide fitter support on site as requiredContinue developing towards full competence as a FitterWhat Were Looking ForWere looking for someone who is keen to learn and committed to developing a long-term career in engineering and maintenance.
