Title: Rail Project Manager
Salary: Up to £65k ~ some flex.
Location: Holborn ~ 3 days in office weekly
Overview:
La Fosse has partnered with an international, market-leading media, broadcasting, and outdoor organization that is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their team. The role involves delivering complex projects within a £200 million infrastructure programme for a transportation client.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and deliver projects successfully, within budget, scope, and safety standards, complying with CDM regulations 2015.
* Create detailed project plans including budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
* Guide project teams through all phases from scoping and design to construction and commissioning, ensuring objectives are met.
* Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve project issues.
* Supervise contractors to ensure compliance with scope, specifications, and safety standards.
* Lead budgeting and forecasting for CAPEX projects, maintaining expenditure within approved limits.
* Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to optimize costs, negotiate contracts, and monitor contractor performance.
* Coordinate with engineering, procurement, operations, and finance departments to align project goals.
* Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
* Manage contractor relationships to ensure compliance and quality standards.
* Ensure all projects adhere to regulatory, safety, and environmental standards and company policies.
* Implement quality control and assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle.
* Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
* Maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports and meeting minutes.
* Provide regular updates to senior management on project status and risks.
* Oversee project closeout and transition to operations.
Experience Needed:
* At least 5 years of experience managing rail projects.
* Proficiency in construction contract frameworks such as NEC, JCT, CCN, etc., and effective contract administration.
* Experience delivering construction, installation, and commissioning projects, preferably on roads, highways, or rail.
* Experience managing contractors and suppliers within NEC3/4 or similar environments.
* Knowledge of CDM regulations 2015 and proven safety-first site management and auditing skills.
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Primavera P6, and document management systems like ASite.
* Experience leading project manager direct reports.
