HSE Manager
Great Yarmouth, Norfolk
£60k (24 days holiday plus stats, bonus scheme)
Our client, a leading manufacturing business, is seeking an HSE Manager to join their team.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide guidance and advice on compliance with statutory requirements and company standards through guidance and observation visits.
2. Respond to requests for advice within the area of expertise, in collaboration with the SHE Manager and other relevant personnel.
3. Undertake risk assessments related to SHE.
4. Work proactively with operational teams throughout project lifecycles to ensure SHE considerations are integrated at all stages, with relevant control measures identified.
5. Assist in the implementation of ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001 standards.
6. Conduct active monitoring of company projects using the monitoring system.
7. Highlight areas of poor practice or significant risk.
8. Investigate incidents, producing detailed reports with root cause analysis and recommendations for improvement.
9. Liaise with enforcing authorities as necessary.
10. Assist in the review and updating of SHE policies and procedures.
11. Work with senior management to develop and implement divisional strategies for SHE improvement.
12. Stay informed about new legislation and industry best practices through journals and site visits.
13. Raise SHE and sustainability awareness via toolbox talks and briefings, delivering training as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (minimum requirement).
2. NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6 in OHAS (desired).
3. Proactive support experience in operational business units.
4. Up-to-date knowledge of UK SHE legislation.
5. Experience with systems accredited to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
6. Relevant construction sector experience.
