About the role: The Faculty of Theology and Religion seeks to appoint a Departmental Lecturer in Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, in association with Worcester College. The lectureship aims to develop a promising scholar's career through research, teaching, and collaboration in Hebrew Bible / Old Testament and related fields. The Lecturer will actively participate in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.
About you: You will hold a postgraduate qualification (preferably DPhil or PhD) in Hebrew Bible / Old Testament, with a research record suitable to your career stage and familiarity with the field's literature. You should be able to teach courses such as ‘The Poetic World of the Hebrew Bible’ and ‘Gender and Power in Biblical Texts,’ and additional papers in Hebrew narrative. You should also demonstrate the ability to participate collegially in the wider academic community at Oxford. The detailed duties and skills are outlined in the job description.
