Offer description

Doing things differently.

Hourly Paid Lecturer

A flat rate of £19.90 per hour will be paid for the development of the course and all related material.

The number of hours required and the days of the week may vary.

The amount of weekly hours is to be agreed with an expected 30 hours per week in August and September.

The maximum amount of hours for the project is 630, and the project will end at the end of March 2026.

About the Role

We are looking for a colleague to develop a two-semester Academic English course and all associated materials aimed at Chinese students on an Arts and Design foundation course. The material will be used by local teachers in face-to-face teaching sessions in China. The role also includes the online training of these teachers in the use of the course materials. Previous demonstrable experience with course and material design is essential.

The first and main part of the course and material development process will need to be carried out in August until 12 September 2025 and will therefore require sufficient availability during this time, with work starting no later than 4 August 2025. A second development and review phase will last into March 2026.

The successful candidate will need to be able to work to strict deadlines and following NTU policies on course design and material development. The project will be supervised by experienced EAP teachers but we expect candidates to show a high degree of autonomy.

For more details, please take a look at the role profile. We'll still consider applications even if you don't meet every single one of the requirements, so don't be put off if you don't match them perfectly.

Interviews; w/c 14th July
