Band 7 - Senior Sister/Charge Nurse | Part time - 28 hours
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Urgent and Emergency Care Team within the Emergency Department at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.
We are undertaking a £20m refurbishment of our Emergency Care Village, creating an exciting time to influence and shape the Emergency Care and the environment in which our staff work.
The successful candidate will have significant Emergency Nursing experience, lead by example with excellent communication skills, and manage, prioritise and deliver high quality care to our patients.
You will provide senior leadership and management, escalating concerns as appropriate to the ED Matron. You will manage staff, review appraisals and support health and wellbeing and day-to-day staffing with the support of the multi-disciplinary ED management team.
You will have completed Level 2 RCN competencies and, as a clinical expert, proactively develop yourself and others. You will lead and supervise the work of others and manage the emergency care setting as a whole; managing patient flow and delegating care accordingly.

Main duties of the job
* Provide clinical expertise to the departmental team, acting as a role model in the delivery of patient care.
* Effectively manage the clinical area, understanding the targets and KPIs associated with ED.
* Act in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and trust policies and procedures.
* Lead, support, supervise and teach staff.

Person specifications
Shortlisting Essential: Current NMC Registration; Band 6+ Emergency Care Experience; RCN Level 2 Competencies; Leadership and Management Qualification.
Desirable: ALS; APLS/EPLS; TNCC; Teaching and Assessing Qualification; Advanced Clinical Assessment Skills; Quality Improvement Experience.
