About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced DT Food Technician to join our team in Merton. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic individual who has prior experience supporting food technology in a school setting. You will work closely with teaching staff to ensure the smooth running of practical food sessions, maintaining high standards of safety, hygiene, and organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare resources, ingredients, and equipment for food technology lessons.
Support teachers during practical food lessons, ensuring students are safe and following procedures.
Maintain food preparation areas, equipment, and storage in line with health and safety standards.
Monitor and maintain inventory of ingredients and equipment.
Provide guidance to students on practical techniques when required.
Assist with the cleaning and organisation of the food technology area.Requirements:
Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service is essential.
Proven experience as a Food Technician in a school environment.
Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organisational and communication skills
