About the Role
We're looking for a motivated Material Controller Apprentice to join our growing Supply Chain team. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for someone looking to start a career in logistics, manufacturing, and supply chain operations.
Working under the supervision of the Supply Chain Management team, you will play a key role in ensuring materials and components are available to support manufacturing, while maintaining accurate stock control and efficient inventory processes.
You'll also work towards a nationally recognised Supply Chain Apprenticeship qualification, gaining hands‑on experience and building valuable industry skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Receiving and booking in goods (Goods In)
* Carrying out material quality control checks
* Supporting stock level management and inventory control
* Ensuring materials are stored correctly and safely in line with Health & Safety regulations
* Reporting stock discrepancies, variances, or supply issues
* Following internal quality and claims procedures
* Maintaining clean, organised, and safe storage locations
* Replenishing materials and parts to manufacturing production lines
* Conducting regular stock counts and cycle counts
* Supporting general warehouse and supply chain operations as required
What We're Looking For
Essential
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
* Good numeracy and literacy skills
* Strong attention to detail
* Reliable, organised, and proactive
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Desirable
* Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office, warehouse systems)
* Interest in supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing environments
