GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and caring 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child with additional needs in a welcoming primary school in Chigwell. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey while developing your own skills in a supportive school environment.
The Role
* Provide individualised support to a child with SEN, helping them access learning in and outside the classroom.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies and support plans.
* Encourage independence, build confidence, and promote social and emotional development.
* Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and daily routines.
* Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience supporting children with SEN (in schools, care, youth work, or similar settings).
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships.
* Strong communication skills to work effectively with staff, children, and parents.
* A proactive and flexible approach to meeting children’s individual needs.
