Anexciting opportunity has arisen to join the Therapeutic Social Work Team inLeeds as part of our multi-disciplinary team which works to support theemotional wellbeing of Children Looked After children on Child protectionplans.
We support children, young people and the people and systems aroundthem, using a trauma informed and systemic approach. The team comprises oftherapeutic social workers, team managers, psychologists and speech &language therapist. We are looking to recruit a creative and dynamicOccupational Therapist who is passionate about improving outcomes for childrenand young people and is committed to a collaborative and restorative approach.
This is a part-time position ( = hours per week) employed by LeedsCommunity Health Care (LCH) & deployed to this team in Leeds City Council.
Main duties of the job
Alongside excellent general OT and Leadership skills you will have knowledge and experience of:
1. Working with children looked after and a trauma informed approach.
2. Working with children with complex presentations and disabilities.
3. Working effectively and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary context, with systems that are often experiencing high demand and stress.
4. Interventions and strategies around regulation and self-soothing.
5. Attachment-Informed Assessments
6. Functional Assessments for specific daily occupations, including the Assessment of Motor and Process Skills
7. Experience of work around Sleep hygiene, eating and Mealtime observations.
8. Desirable experience would include:
9. Paediatric OT work & supporting neuro developmental assessments
10. Understanding of Holistic & sequential approach to assessment & intervention.
11. Working within a multidisciplinary team.
12. Facilitating groups.
13. Working with children and young people who have experienced trauma.

Job Purpose
The post holder will beresponsible for their own caseload within their speciality area as anautonomous practitioner. In doing so, they will assess, plan, deliver andevaluate patient centred programmes of care to a specialist level ensuring thatthey practice within their sphere of competence and knowledge. 14. Professional degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy
15. Professional body registration & maintains a portfolio of CPD in line with regulatory body standards
