Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Foundation NHS Trust are pleased to accept applications from experienced consultant psychiatrists with knowledge of and passion for neurodevelopmental conditions to join an expanding service for adults with ADHD across Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East.
Cheshire and Wirral Partnership provides health and care services for a population of over one million people, including mental health, learning disability, community physical health and all-age disability care, as well as the provision of three GP surgeries in Cheshire.
Overview
Working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team the role involves the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of ADHD in adults, including young people aged 16+. With a principal focus on people with more complex presentations, successful candidates will be responsible for initiating, titrating and optimising medication as well as providing ongoing review on patients on treatment and assessments for young people transferring from paediatric or CYP services.
Key responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership to the team.
* Provide consultation and input in care planning and treatment formulation, guidance on evidence‑based treatment and effectiveness.
* Ensure liaison and collaborative working with other services and agencies.
* Ensure appropriate implementation of duties under the Mental Health Act.
* Ensure multi‑disciplinary, multi‑agency and partnership working.
* Provide advice and support to other disciplines in the team and work in close, effective partnership with them.
* Make referrals to other services and specialists as required.
* Provide advice and consultation to primary care and specialist mental health services.
* Jointly responsible for monitoring specific physical health‑care aspects of patients under the care of the service where appropriate.
* Contribute to quality improvement and service development to enhance outcomes of the ADHD Service.
Work Locations
The roles will involve clinics at locations across Cheshire as well as attendance at St Catherine’s Hospital for team meetings and training. Requests for flexible working arrangements will be reviewed on an individual basis, in line with Trust policy.

All new starters will commence in post on one fixed start date each month, in line with our Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme date. P2C offers up to 3 weeks training to support you to meet the induction / initial training requirements of the role.
