Occupational Therapist - Barking / Dagenham
APM Ingeus has an exclusive contract with the Department for Work and Pensions to recruit Healthcare Professionals for their Health Transformation Programme.
We are seeking passionate and innovative Occupational Therapists to support a newly emerging OT-led vocational rehabilitation service based in Dagenham and Barking Jobcentres.
You will manage your own caseload of referrals to support customers in overcoming barriers to work, using therapeutic strategies.
Using standardised Occupational Therapy and health tools, you will empower individuals with health conditions and disabilities to engage in meaningful occupations, adopt strategies, and improve their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing, moving them closer to employment.
Your role will significantly impact helping people live fulfilling lives, with proactive support aimed at reducing long-term unemployment and inactivity.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Conduct assessments to determine customers' vocational abilities and interests.
* Develop and monitor individualised vocational rehabilitation plans, adjusting as necessary.
* Facilitate skills training and workshops for customers.
* Build links with local organisations to improve signposting, networking, and access to services.
Requirements: Fully registered with the HCPC and at least one year of post-registration experience. You should have excellent knowledge of physical, cognitive, sensory, and mental health conditions and their impact on function. Ability to travel to Barking and Dagenham job centres, and confidence to work one-on-one with customers as well as run group sessions.
