Electrical Design Engineer
This role offers a dynamic and flexible work environment, combining remote work with site visits. You will be responsible for designing Electrical Engineering Installations for various building types, ensuring all designs meet professional, technical, and statutory standards.
Role Purpose
Design Electrical Building Services installations in accordance with standards and statutory requirements, overseeing projects from conception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design electrical building services installations following standards and statutory requirements.
2. Monitor project budgets and control expenditure.
3. Prepare feasibility studies, specifications, drawings, and contract documentation.
4. Supervise site meetings, coordinate handovers, and finalize accounts.
5. Conduct risk assessments and ensure health and safety compliance.
6. Design systems including power, lighting, fire alarms, security, and more.
7. Lead sustainability and energy conservation initiatives.
8. Manage and review consultants on projects.
9. Assist in updating engineering specifications and workload planning.
Skills and Experience
1. Qualifications: HNC or equivalent, with professional membership (IET/CIBSE).
2. Experience in Electrical Building Services Design, project, and contractor management.
3. Technical skills: Proficiency in Hevacomp or similar HVAC design software, AutoCAD, and knowledge of fire alarms, emergency lighting, and intruder alarms.
4. IT Skills: Competent in IT systems, email, and Microsoft Office.
5. Personal qualities: Initiative, excellent planning and organization, strong communication, and teamwork skills.
6. Additional conditions: Full clean driving license and ability to perform inspections in challenging environments.
