Position Description
At CGI, you will play a key role in designing and operating secure, high-performance Linux‑based infrastructure that supports mission‑critical systems across the Space, Defence and Intelligence sector. This role focuses on building resilient, scalable platforms that enable innovation and operational excellence.
Position will be based near Gloucester, five days a week. Due to the secure nature of the programme you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance.
Responsibilities
* Design and deploy Linux‑based infrastructure across enterprise environments.
* Automate and optimise systems using configuration management and scripting.
* Orchestrate and manage containerised platforms using Kubernetes.
* Build and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code and CI/CD pipelines.
* Manage and enhance storage solutions, backup and disaster recovery processes.
* Monitor and improve system performance, reliability and scalability.
* Collaborate and deliver with cross‑functional teams to support mission‑critical systems.
Qualifications
* Strong experience managing Linux infrastructure within enterprise or secure environments, with a focus on automation, scalability and reliability.
* Proficiency with Linux distributions such as Red Hat or Rocky Linux.
* Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g. Python, Bash, Ansible).
* Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
* Knowledge of infrastructure‑as‑code and CI/CD practices.
* Experience managing storage solutions and backup/recovery processes.
* Strong troubleshooting and system optimisation skills.
* Familiarity with data tools such as NiFi is desirable.
* Experience working in secure or regulated environments is advantageous.
