Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Food Manager to oversee our food production operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of food safety regulations, including HACCP principles, and will be responsible for ensuring that all food products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent mechanical knowledge and basic mathematical skills to manage inventory and production processes efficiently.
Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards, including HACCP protocols.
* Oversee daily food production operations, ensuring quality control and adherence to recipes.
* Train and supervise kitchen staff on food safety practices and production techniques.
* Monitor inventory levels and manage stock rotation to minimise waste.
* Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to ensure proper maintenance and functionality.
* Collaborate with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients while managing costs effectively.
* Maintain accurate records related to food production, safety inspections, and employee training.
* Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in food management or a related field, with a strong emphasis on food safety practices.
* Knowledge of HACCP principles and their application in a food production environment.
* Familiarity with mechanical systems used in food processing equipment is advantageous.
* Basic mathematical skills for inventory management and cost calculations.
* Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills to effectively train staff.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
