Job Title: Plater Location: Barrow-In-Furness – Based on site full time Requirements: Apprenticeship Certificate, Safety Certification I.E SHE Induction, COSHH Awareness and working at height What you'll be doing: Fabricate, Assemble and/or install parts of a ship Marking off materials Assembling of ships structures (Shell, Decks, Bulkheads, Frames and Longitudinal Outfitting Ships items such as Seats, Ladders, False flooring & Panels Forming Materials using machinery such as Rolling, Flanging & Cutting Machines (Guillotine, Cropper & Mechanical Saw) Prepping a ship for launch & ship sea trails, manufacture of launch slipway, shores, batons etc Your Skills and Experience: Understanding of fabrication and installation drawings Being able to follow manufacturing processes Clear understanding of SHE risk awareness Good verbal communication and able to pass knowledge on to apprentices Additional information: Before starting you must hold FULL SC- Estimated minimum time scale for this is 6-8 weeks Once you have started and completed a trade test you will go straight onto a shift pattern If you have already worked for our client previously you will complete an induction and trade test on your first week- then added to a permeant shift pattern Trade Test- This is completed prior to starting clearance and receiving a start date – Practical test- Completed over an 8-hour window. Test will include burning, grinding, tacking up and marking up You are required to provide your own PPE for the trade test (Boots and Overalls) the client will provide head top, gauntlets and tools Random drug test may be required prior to starting
