Role Overview
Ward 25 is a 30-bed general children’s ward with medical and surgical beds, two high-dependency beds, and a Children’s Assessment Unit. The role offers rotation opportunities and exposure to day-case surgery pathways. Nurses will work in a supportive team environment with access to preceptorship, clinical supervision, and ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to paediatric patients
* Work flexibly across a 24-hour shift pattern
* Participate in rotations across various paediatric care areas
* Support the Children’s Assessment Unit and high-dependency care
* Engage in training and development to enhance specialist skills
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Required Skills and Experience
* RN (Child) or RSCN qualification
* Well-developed knowledge of paediatric nursing issues
* Experience in children’s services
* Willingness to work night shifts and weekends
* Teaching qualification (ENB 998, D32/33)
* EPALS certification
* Experience in audit and research
* Clinical supervision training
* Optimism and a sense of humour
