Position: Employee Relations Manager

The Role
Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for employee relations and driving forward a fair, consistent, and people-focused approach to workforce matters? We’re seeking a skilled Employee Relations Manager to join our friendly and supportive HR & OD team.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering a high-quality, customer-focused ER service, providing clear, professional advice on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, and attendance management. You’ll help shape modern and consistent people management policies and practices across our partner organisations.
You’ll collaborate with a Senior HR Advisor, HR & OD Apprentice, and external partners to support effective service delivery. This is an opportunity to influence change, support culture development, and contribute to a progressive People & OD strategy.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Manage employment policies and casework
* Facilitate informal resolutions when appropriate
* Coordinate with shared service operations to meet RBK requirements
* Maintain governance and manage terms, conditions, and contracts
* Handle casework, including hearings, sickness absence, and mental health issues
* Identify risks related to ET claims and financial exposure
* Monitor investigation timelines and escalate delays
* Support service improvement, training, and good union relations
* Review and develop HR policies and operational processes
* Provide policy and procedural advice across HR and OD
* Advise managers on risks and opportunities for early resolution
* Oversee formal HR casework management
Skills & Experience
* Chartered CIPD membership or equivalent
* Experience advising managers in a unionised environment
* Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices
* Experience managing complex ER casework and organizational change
* Solutions-focused and professional approach
The role may require flexible working hours occasionally, with reasonable notice, for events and meetings.
