The Oxford Centre for Emerging Minds Research is a newly funded research centre to conduct world class research that contributes to a world where differences between children and young people are understood and accepted, strengths are capitalised on, and mental health difficulties are prevented or addressed early in life. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on a Wellcome Trust funded project to promote the global sustainability and scalability of a digitally augmented parent-led CBT treatment for child (5-12 years) anxiety problems. The minimum on-site time is 3 days/week for a full-time post. About the Role The post is funded for 4 years and is based in the Department of Experimental Psychology, Life and Mind Building. The post is full time; however, consideration would be given to candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 80% FTE) on a pro rata basis. You will be responsible for leading, coordinating and monitoring quantitative and qualitative research activities in collaboration with colleagues in Chile, the Philippines, Thailand, Japan, and Pakistan. You will co-ordinate and support the meaningful involvement of parents/children with relevant lived experience to support the successful delivery of the project, working closely with local lived experience coordinators. You will also identify barriers to recruitment to different aspects of the study leading to the development and implementation of strategies/action plans (and ongoing review) to ensure that targets are met according to study timelines. Supervision would be provided by senior Centre staff, including Professor Cathy Creswell. About You You will have or be close to completion of a PhD/DPhil in psychology, together with some relevant experience. Demonstrable experience of collecting and analysing qualitative and quantitative data from children and/or parents/caregivers is essential, as is relevant experience in clinical research and/or clinical skills in working with children and/or parents/caregivers. You will have specialist knowledge in inductive and deductive qualitative research methods (including e.g. Framework Analysis). Experience/knowledge of child anxiety presentation, measures and intervention and of intervention co-design/co-adaptation would be desirable.
