An exciting new role has arisen for a qualified CA/ACCA with several years proven current/recent UK Accountancy Practice firm experience to join our client's expanding Accountancy/Business advisory Edinburgh team as an Accountancy Manager or Assistant Manager to work up to Manager level.
Main duties:
To undertake preparation of statutory financial statements, outsourcing functions at clients and preparation of statutory accounts, ensuring deadlines and proper accounting standards are met.
Main Responsibilities
Review and agree draft budgets.
Delegate, supervise and review work of seniors and juniors, ensuring the file is complete and all review points addressed before it is passed to the Partner Director.
Liaise with clients directly or through relevant manager to resolve queries or obtain further information.
Review draft CT computations.
Review draft financial statements.
Assist in the completion of advisory work.
Monitor work in progress on all jobs within the portfolio, communicating any potential problems and write offs to the Partners on a timely basis.
Undertake critical audit areas for key audit clients and supervise larger client audits.
Monitor budgets and be responsible for the teams performance.
Monitor filing deadlines and ensure deadlines are achieved, including corporation tax and.
Companies House filings.
Be a key technical contact for staff.
Liaise directly with other offices/departments/technical to resolve issues.
Take responsibility for keeping yourself up to date with legislation and standards.
Qualification and Skills required
Fully ACCA, ACA OR ICAS qualified.
Experience with demonstrable knowledge of producing year-end financial statements, management accounts and completing VAT returns.
Strong IT skills including Word, Outlook and Excel, to an intermediate level, for the production of letters and spreadsheets.
Knowledge of cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero preferred but not essential.
