Job summary – What to expect:
As Senior Legal Counsel, you’ll provide legal advice and support to the business on commercial and operational matters. This will include supporting local market regions within EMEA (such as Central and Eastern Europe (CEE)) and across CooperVision as needed.
You’ll be the first point of contact for all legal matters arising in the designated market regions as well as being legal lead for various projects arising across CooperVision.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
* Provide guidance and support on all legal matters in the designated market regions, as well as being legal lead for various projects in EMEA and across CooperVision.
* Structure, negotiate, and draft significant strategic and operational commercial contracts including supply, distribution, purchase, and outsourcing agreements.
* Assess potential legal risks proactively and work with management and the EMEA / Global legal team to devise and implement systems and solutions to manage these risks, including delivering preventative training and communications.
* Support Sales and Marketing teams, advising on EMEA promotions, campaigns, and advertising, ensuring compliance with EU law (including competition laws), local laws, and governance.
* Instruct and manage external counsel to ensure local law compliance and manage litigation effectively.
* Support enabling functions (Sales and Marketing, HR, Finance) on legal issues.
* Understand EU competition laws and their application in an international organization.
* Partner with other CooperVision and The Cooper Companies, Inc lawyers to align with global best practices and share knowledge.

About you:
You’ll be a fully qualified, experienced UK commercial lawyer with relatable experience in a practice or in-house role. Minimum of 6 years PQE, though candidates with slightly less experience who meet other criteria are encouraged to apply.
You’ll have a broad generalist commercial experience, be an excellent communicator at all levels, and ideally have worked within an international organization.
