As Internal Comms Officer, you'll help turn strategy into compelling communication plans that enhance employee engagement and promote a positive workplace culture. Your work will directly support AQA's mission and contribute to a collaborative, informed, and motivated workforce.

Summary
As an Internal Comms Officer within the Internal Communication Team within Corporate Affairs and Strategy, your role is vital in ensuring effective and compelling communication with our colleagues. By developing communication content, managing channels, and translating strategy into communication plans, you will significantly contribute to enhancing employee engagement and promoting a positive workplace culture. Your work will directly impact AQA's strategy and culture by fostering a transparent and collaborative internal environment.Landscape:
This is a key individual contributor role within the Internal Communications and Engagement team. You will report to the Content and Channels Manager and work collaboratively with colleagues both within the Internal Comms team and across various business areas.
The role involves close interaction with internal stakeholders at all levels, and you will be responsible for managing communication channels effectively and supporting the creation of engaging content.
Together with a fellow Internal Comms Officer you will co-ordinate and deliver key communication support activities on behalf of the whole team.
Activities:
Create and develop impactful communication content that aligns with AQA's values and strategic objectives
Edit contributed content to ensure it is effective and on brand
Maintain various communication channels and media (including intranet), ensuring consistent and engaging messaging
Plan and produce digital content across formats — including graphics and video — for intranet, email, and other internal channels
Assist in the planning and delivery of internal campaigns, roadshows and colleague engagement events
Turn corporate strategy into effective communication plans for internal audiences
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and consistency in internal communications
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of internal communication strategies and channels, using insights to improve content
Contribute to the planning and execution of employee engagement initiatives
Perform administrative tasks on behalf of the whole team – such as diary management, document management, regular business processes
Proactively seek and introduce new ideas, tools, and best practices to improve internal communications and engagement
Need to know (to be successful in this role, you will need to know):
Knowledge of how to develop and deliver impactful internal communications
Ability to create engaging digital content across multiple formats, including graphics and video to enhance colleague engagement. Or the willingness/aptitude to learn how to do so.
Project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with a creative mindset to bring innovation to communication content
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; comfortable with ambiguity and a changing landscape
Familiarity with communication tools and platforms to enhance delivery and engagement
Understanding of intranet platforms and content management systems, including the ability to maintain and update SharePoint sites
Ability to interpret engagement metrics and colleague feedback to inform and improve communication strategies
