Quantity Surveyor Wanted – Groundworks & Civil Engineering Contractor (Midlands Based)

I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and reputable Groundworks and Civil Engineering contractor based in the Midlands. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, we’re looking to bring a Quantity Surveyor on board to support ongoing and upcoming projects across the region.

About the Role
We’re open to candidates with a range of experience levels – from those early in their Quantity Surveying career, to more experienced QS professionals ready to step into a senior or project lead role.
The role will involve working closely with project and site teams to manage the commercial aspects of groundworks and civil engineering projects from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparing and managing interim valuations, final accounts, and variations
* Cost control, forecasting, and reporting
* Assisting with tenders, procurement, and subcontractor engagement
* Negotiating with clients and supply chain partners
* Supporting commercial decisions to maximise project performance
What We’re Looking For
We’re considering candidates at various levels, including:
* Assistant / Junior QS with ambition to progress
* Intermediate QS looking for more autonomy
* Senior QS capable of leading commercial functions independently
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* A degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying (or working towards one)
* Previous experience in groundworks or civil engineering (preferred but not essential)
* Good commercial acumen and attention to detail
* Confident communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
* A proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop
