The Broad Group was established in 1989 and is a family run business. We provide Supported Living Accommodation, Residential Care and a Domiciliary Care Service for Deaf Adults with Learning Disabilities, Sensory Impairments and Autistic Spectrum Disorders across Worcestershire.
We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic support worker to join our long-standing team of support workers. Our team provide a high standard of care for our service users. We will consider applications for full-time and part-time roles.
The individuals we support are profoundly deaf and use British Sign Language therefore it is essential that applicants hold a BSL qualification or if not they will be required to complete a BSL level 1 course.
For this role you will be required to transport service users to various activities therefore having a driving licence is essential.
What would a typical day look like?
As a support worker your role includes:
Providing companionship and offering social interaction using BSL to communicate with service users.
Supporting residents with activities they enjoy, this can include arts and crafts, swimming and even going to the pub!
Cooking and supporting individuals to prepare meals.
Supporting individuals on trips outside of the homes, this can include day trips and holidays.
Supporting residents with personal care (hygiene, washing, dressing, etc.) .
Ensuring that the service users' homes are kept clean and tidy as well as supporting residents to keep their own rooms clean.
Maintaining accurate service user records.
Recording daily activities/ information on Access software.
Completing sleep-in shifts from 10pm- 8am.

Pate of Pay: £13.25-£14.50 per hour depending on experience
Level 2 support worker (QCF level 2- and 2-years experience)- £13.25.
Level 3 support worker (QCF level 3- and 3-years experience)- £14.00.
Supervisory support worker (QCF level 5- and 5-years experience)- £14.50.
Licence/Qualifications:
UK Driving Licence (required)
Level 2 NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care (required)
BSL Level 1
