Overview
The Cancer Specialist Nurse is pivotal in providing outstanding patient care from the referral to our services through the diagnostic process and onward referrals to the cancer services in Bristol. The Band 7 specialist nurse will deliver individualized patient-centered care with a strong focus on effective communication and compassionate care.
This role is suitable for a knowledgeable and skilled nurse with gynecology support and care experience who is interested in developing cancer knowledge and skills. You will work as an autonomous practitioner seeing patients independently and will work alongside the Lead Gynae Oncology Consultants and Gynae Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialists.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team in Bristol and the community to ensure a coordinated quality service and will be actively involved in education, audit, and research. They will ensure practice is in line with the latest governance frameworks and have a responsibility to stay up to date and work within current guidance. They will maintain and develop expertise and skills within this specialist field to facilitate safe and effective patient management, and demonstrate professionalism in behavior, attitude, and appearance at all times.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
The post holder will contribute to workforce development by developing and delivering education and training, and participate in research activity and clinical audits within the specialist area. The post holder will focus on improving the patient care experience and supporting service development, and lead discussions in multidisciplinary team meetings, including case conferences and MDT meetings.
