Job overview
Nerrols Primary School and Nursery, part of the Richard Huish Trust, is a Free School on the outskirts of Taunton that opened in 2019. We currently provide care and education to over 250 children aged 2-11 and will continue to grow until we reach our capacity as a two-form entry primary school, which is expected to be within the next 6 years. We are proud of the education we provide for our children and the strong reputation that we are building across the Taunton and surrounding Somerset area.
We are now seeking an enthusiastic and committed Administrative Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. This is a varied and busy role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The role includes working on reception, providing a welcoming and professional first point of contact for children, parents and carers, staff and visitors of the School.
The successful applicant will be organised, calm and flexible, with the ability to use their initiative to manage competing priorities in a busy environment. They will work closely with staff, governors, children, parents and carers, visitors and external agencies, and must be able to work as part of a team while also managing their own workload. A high level of confidentiality, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines are essential. A good working knowledge of Microsoft applications — specifically Outlook, Word and Excel — is also required.
Nerrols Primary School and Nursery is a welcoming, supportive and exciting place to work, which promotes a culture of respect and high aspirations for both staff and children.
