Overview

Administrative Assistant to SCN at NHS Ayrshire and Arran, based at Ayrshire Central Hospital. This is a fixed-term role until 27 September 2026.


What You Will Do

* Provide comprehensive administrative support and be the first point of contact on behalf of the Senior Charge Nurses within an in-patient hospital setting.


Knowledge, Training and/or Experience Required

* Educated to SVQ Level II in Business Administration/IT or have equivalent clerical experience.
* Excellent administrative and computer skills with practical experience and knowledge of database creation and maintenance.
* Working knowledge and high competence in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and a recognised IT qualification.
* Excellent time management and communication skills (written and verbal); strong interpersonal skills with ability to handle highly confidential/sensitive issues appropriately.
* Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality and to understand and comply with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
* Ability to work unsupervised with initiative, and to work effectively as part of a team; capable of meeting challenging timescales and prioritising workload; flexible to changing demands.


Hours

* Post 1: 22.5 hours per week, Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 9:00am–5:00pm.
* Post 2: 37 hours per week, Monday-Thursday 9:00am–5:00pm and Friday 9:00am–4:30pm.
