Join Amazon’s growing Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team as a Maintenance Supervisor at the largest Fulfillment Center (FC) in the Southern Hemisphere and the first Amazon Robotics Site in Australia. Our RME team is central to Amazon’s commitment to innovation – it ensures that the tools and technologies we use stay ahead of need. In this role you’ll focus on maintaining high standards, implementing upgrades, and leading a team of up to 10 technicians (fitters and electricians).
As shift lead you will execute preventative maintenance to maximize equipment uptime, maintain a strong focus on safety, and ensure compliance with all regulations and policies. Your leadership will help the team adopt the latest technologies, identify efficient ways of working, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and motivate a maintenance technician team, providing strategic guidance and professional development.
* Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs and facility compliance strategies.
* Act as an ambassador for safety, promoting safe work practices across the site.
* Install, maintain, and troubleshoot complex facility systems and automated equipment.
* Build strong cross‑functional relationships and participate in strategic leadership meetings.
Qualifications
* Formal trade qualification: Cert III in Electrotechnology with an unrestricted trade licence, or Cert III Mechanical Engineering (Fitter/Turner), or an equivalent trade qualification formally recognised in Australia.
* Industrial maintenance experience and leadership experience supervising multi‑trade teams in a fast‑paced industrial manufacturing/distribution centre environment.
* Experience in mentoring and developing technicians.
* Relevant experience in automation or material handling equipment environments.
* Experience using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) to plan proactive maintenance and record reactive tasks.
* Experience in contractor management.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in automated conveyor systems and controls, electrical and electronic principles, preventative maintenance procedures, blueprint and schematic reading, industrial electrical, industrial controls, industrial electronics, PLC programming and work order management.
* Experience with multi‑contractor management.
* Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements.
* Facility management experience.
