Overview

The British Army is committed to tripling its operational lethality by the end of the decade, driven by rapid investment in cutting-edge technologies. At the heart of this change is data and digital transformation, overseen by the Army's Chief Technology Officer (CTO), who is responsible for digital and data services, leads the integration of new capabilities and ensures compliance with policy and legal regulations. The CTO is ultimately responsible and accountable for integrating new digital and data capabilities from across the Army's change portfolio onto the network. Army Digital Services (ADS) is part of the CTO department, part of the Directorate of Information within the Army Headquarters, Andover. ADS is the Army's supplier of choice for the design, development and support of applications and services to provide digital enablement of the Army's processes. It therefore supports the Army's ambitious and innovative modernisation and transformation agenda. ADS enables this digital transformation by developing bespoke software, hosting applications, including the Army Data Warehouse and conducting data analytics. These roles will also provide the opportunity to assist with the successful delivery of broader digital projects for Army and Defence organisations seeking digital transformation applications and services.


Roles available

We are seeking to fill 5 posts. The following roles are available, please specify within your application which your preference would be. Should you be successful at sift, you will be provided a full job description for the position/s you are interested in.


Main duties

* Co-operate and collaborate closely with Application owners
* Deliver service support based upon a Service Level Agreement (SLA)
* Conduct and apply the ADS change process to services
* Develop and maintain an understanding of the services from the perspective of service users
* Conduct business relationship management to ensure the needs of the business are met fully by the service provided, developing an understanding of evolving business needs through regular user working groups and reporting against the agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA)
* The roles will work as part of a team of Civil Servants and Military staff supporting the Army and wider Defence with defined ITIL processes and procedures
* Developing an understanding of evolving business needs through regular stakeholder engagement
* Support the continual data quality improvements of both the ADS Information Security management Systems (ISMS) and Central Management Database (CMDB) tooling


Role Specific

* Service Managers & Technical Design Office (TDO) Service Manager (Location: Andover)
o Your role will be to ensure that the Service Management function operates effectively and efficiently. The job holder will have responsibility of developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including customers, 3rd party vendors and other departments within ADS
* The Executive Officer (EO) Service Manager fulfils a meaningful role in the provision of Service Management to the applications and services provided by the Army Hosting Environment (AHE). The role will work as part of a team of Civil Servants and Military staff supporting the Army and wider Defence with defined ITIL processes and procedures
* Support the continual data quality improvements of both the ADS Information Security management Systems (ISMS) and Central Management Database (CMDB) tooling


MODCloud Internet Connected Environment Service Support - Defence Gateway (Location: Andover/Corsham)

* This post is currently based in Andover, but may be relocated to Corsham at a later date.
* You will provide 2nd line service support to users of the Defence Gateway Cloud Platform as a Service (DGC PaaS), in conjunction with the 1st line Service Desk Team and Consult the correct teams/ Contractors for Technical support when required
* The primary function is to triage user-reported issues and incidents that have not been resolved at level one support and referred to 2nd line support via the DGC PaaS Help Desk system and other channels. Where resolution cannot be reached the correct technical team will be informed and worked with to reach resolution.
* Support for applications hosted on MoDCloud and incorporates support in their interface to Defence Gateway capabilities
