Tradewind Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a respected Further Education college in Northamptonshire to recruit a Sports Studies Lecturer for a full time position. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and knowledgeable educator to support post-16 learners studying sport-related qualifications.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons in Sports Studies and related sport science topics to students aged 16 and above. The role involves planning and delivering lessons, supporting students with both theoretical and practical aspects of sport, assessing learner progress, and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
This position would suit an experienced FE lecturer, a qualified teacher with a background in sport, or a sports industry professional interested in moving into education. The college offers a supportive and collaborative environment with a strong commitment to helping students progress into higher education, apprenticeships, or careers within the sports industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Sports Studies and related subjects
2. Support learners in developing knowledge of sport, fitness, and the wider sports industry
3. Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback
4. Encourage student participation and engagement in both theoretical and practical learning
5. Contribute to maintaining a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements:
6. Degree or relevant qualification in Sports Studies, Sports Science, or a related field
7. Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent) desirable but not essential
8. Experience teaching or supporting post-16 learners is advantageous
9. Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for sport and education
10. Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
