Overview
This is a highly technical position within the Universitys Electrical Team, responsible for compliance, reactive and planned maintenance, and small project work. The role requires close collaboration with the Estates Direct Labour Organisation, the Engineering Department, contractors, suppliers, and other University departments. You will play a key part in supporting the Mechanical and Electrical Senior Supervisor to drive standardisation and achieve optimal energy efficiency across the Universitys plant equipment portfolio.

Responsibilities
* Lead complex electrical works and projects across residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
* Collaborate with colleagues and external contractors to deliver maintenance services.
* Support the Mechanical and Electrical Senior Supervisor with standardisation and energy efficiency initiatives.
* Participate in the on‑call rota following successful completion of the probation period.
* Maintain the scheduled work pattern of 8am‑4pm Monday to Friday, with flexibility for health and safety requirements such as winter pathway gritting.
Qualifications
* Clean, current driving licence.
* Recognised industry qualifications: City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 & Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent) and City & Guilds 2382‑18 18th Edition BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
* Proven experience working within a multi‑disciplinary environment across large estates.
* Solid technical knowledge of statutory legislation governing facilities maintenance and electrical systems.
* IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
* Ability to manage operational activity effectively while ensuring compliance and safety standards are met.
