Job Overview
Flintshire and Wrexham CAMHS are excited to advertise a Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner post to join our East CAMHS Eating Disorder Pathway (SPEED). This is a full‑time, permanent post. A relocation package is available.
Main Duties
This role involves being a key member of our East CAMHS Eating Disorder (SPEED) Pathway and ensuring the provision of a highly specialist service to young people and their families. The successful candidate will work autonomously within professional guidelines, exercise responsibility for the governance of clinical practice within the pathway, and be involved in managing referrals, undertaking assessments and providing evidence‑based interventions with children, young people and families where there is an eating disorder / disordered eating present. Care coordination will also form part of this role. The candidate will attend East CAMHS weekly eating disorder multidisciplinary meetings and be involved in service evaluation, development and outcome measurement.
Professional Development
Appropriate training will be available to support the successful candidate in undertaking this role and regular clinical supervision will be provided.
Qualifications and Registration
* Relevant professional qualification and registration: NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse OR NMC Registered Learning Disability Nurse OR Social Care (Wales or England) Registered Social Worker (transfer of registration from England to Wales to occur within 3 months of appointment) OR HCPC registered Occupational Therapist OR HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist
* Excellent knowledge of mental health problems that affect children and young people
Desirable Qualifications
* Additional formal qualification in a recognised therapeutic approach
Experience
* Significant experience working with children, young people and families in a health or social care environment
Desirable Experience
* Ability to use formal assessment tools / clinical interviews
* Experience of working with eating disorders
Knowledge
* Good knowledge of mental health problems and disorders
Desirable Knowledge
* Understanding of service structures and inter‑agency working
