Overview
We are seeking a Senior Planner to lead and manage residential planning projects from inception to approval. The role requires strategic insight, technical expertise, and the ability to work autonomously, overseeing applications, guiding project teams, and engaging with stakeholders to deliver high-quality housing developments.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead residential planning applications, including pre-application advice, design input, and public consultation.
* Analyse and apply national and local planning policies to support development proposals.
* Develop and implement planning strategies for each project.
* Liaise with local authorities, consultants, and community groups to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Prepare supporting statements and review technical reports for planning submissions.
* Interpret masterplans and advise on proposals to ensure compliance with planning policies.
* Mentor and support junior planners, reviewing work and providing guidance.
* Assist with planning appeals and inquiries when required.
Essential Skills
* Experience in preparing and submitting planning applications, including managing consultant teams.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills.
* Commercial awareness of costs associated with planning proposals and consultancy.
Qualifications and Experience
* 4–5 years post-qualification experience in a similar planning role.
* MRTPI accredited or working towards membership.
