About The Role
Balfour Beatty (Urban Fox) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Network Manager to join our growing team. The Senior Network Manager is responsible for the design, performance, resilience, and continuous improvement of all network and systems infrastructure supporting IoT connectivity across the EV charging estate. This role will lead the development of internal capabilities around SiteTracker, oversee all enterprise network architecture, and drive major platform migrations to ensure reliability, scalability, and operational readiness as the organisation grows.
Base location can be flexible (some travel required).
What You’ll Be Doing
Network & Systems Ownership
* Oversee end-to-end performance, stability, and security of the network stack supporting IoT-connected EV charge points.
* Ensure network architecture aligns with operational, commercial, and technical requirements of a UK Charge Point Operator.
* Maintain central oversight of network configurations, topology documentation, access control, and version management.
Platform Development & SME Leadership
* Act as the internal SiteTracker Subject Matter Expert, shaping product use, configuration, and integration across teams.
* Develop SiteTracker as a core operational tool, embedding robust processes and workflows.
Asset Connectivity & Infrastructure Migration
* Lead the migration of existing IoT-connected assets onto the Urban Fox (UF) network, ensuring minimal service disruption, data integrity, and full device continuity.
* Coordinate with internal engineering, field teams, and external vendors to resolve connectivity issues and improve estate-wide communication reliability.
Operational Readiness & Audit Compliance
* Maintain accurate, up-to-date network and system documentation to support audits, incident response, and operational readiness.
* Implement monitoring tools, alerting frameworks, and performance dashboards to provide proactive visibility of network health.
Platform & Systems Transformation
* Lead the technical planning and execution of the call‑centre platform migration, ensuring seamless integration with the wider support ecosystem.

Experience
* Demonstrated experience managing networks or systems infrastructure in an IoT, telecoms, utilities, or EV‑charging environment.
* Strong understanding of IP networking, VPNs, firewalls, routing, cellular communications, and device management.
* Experience leading large‑scale platform or system migrations in a live operational environment.
* Hands‑on experience with network monitoring tools, configuration management, and incident response frameworks.
* Working knowledge of enterprise SaaS platforms; prior SiteTracker experience.
Highly Desirable
* Familiarity with UK EV operations, CPO platforms, OCPP/OCPI, and IoT device connectivity (desirable but not essential).
