Plant Engineer
In this role, the successful candidate will work within a small team of multi-discipline professionals delivering new facilities and process equipment. Reporting to the Technical Project Lead (Faraday) this position will be focused on specific Plant Engineering requirements with key deliverables of Project management, Design and implementation of new Plant/Process infrastructure and maintenance of/or continuous improvement of existing plant/processes as per the business need.
Responsibilities:
* independently to Lead / Support Technical specifications of new or changes to Plant infrastructure to support new Processes and Facilities.
* Management of key Project phases including total Project Management (RFI to Project Handover) where required.
* management to include accurate forecasting and control of spend.
* Solve complex problems with support of established Manufacturing Engineering, HSE, Facilities, Controls and Maintenance Teams
* Work closely with established Civils Team to ensure change management governance is kept up to date.
* Upkeep of key site documentation including revisions to Site Layout and Building Information Model.
* Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve issues with current Plant including ability to impact OPEX spend in an R+D facility.
* Accurate reporting (verbal and written) to Project and business stakeholders at all levels
Knowledge skills and experience:
Skills Required:
* Delivery of new Production Lines or Facilities with new or modifications to existing service infrastructure.
* Support or lead commissioning phases of new process equipment / plant.
* Working directly with advanced / current Manufacturing Engineering Teams as part of Team or as a support function.
* Familiarity and ability to interpret Engineering drawings – Mechanical / Electrical / P&IDs etc.
* Sound knowledge of common plant service requirements in Food / Pharma / Chemical industries
* Budget control of CAPEX / OPEX; Project values between 50 & 500K.
* Management of / significant responsibility for upkeep of Site Layouts and Building information models
* Knowledge of Building Management Systems and ability to interrogate data output to support business needs.
* Management of change & correct governance reporting
Experience required:
* 5-10 years’ experience in a Plant / Facilities Engineering roles with evidence of project management responsibility.
* A good communicator with the ability to lead communicate upwards easily and comfortable in liaising with parties external to business.
* Ability to prioritise own workload and daily task / action planning.
Desirable:
* Willingness to travel to visit vendors and work with experts from external companies.
* An individual who is keen to grow and take on new roles as the business evolves.
* Demonstrates risk awareness to project delivery and proactively ensures this is communicated.
