The role
As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for leading the hotel’s financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting strategic decision-making. You will report directly to the Cluster Director of Finance and the General Manager, working collaboratively to drive financial performance and operational excellence. This role is based at a Hyatt-managed property and involves working closely with hotel ownership, building strong relationships and ensuring transparency and trust in financial matters.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and manage all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
* Be accountable for month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
* Work closely with HR to oversee payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with UK employment legislation.
* Provide financial insights and analysis to support operational and strategic decisions.
* Maintain robust internal controls and drive cost efficiencies across departments.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with hotel owners, providing clear and timely financial updates.
* Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Qualifications
About you: You bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You are a confident communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about developing others. While a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) is advantageous, it is not essential—Hyatt welcomes candidates with relevant experience and a strong understanding of financial operations in hospitality or similar sectors. You must have excellent verbal and written English skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally across all levels of the business, including external stakeholders. You demonstrate Hyatt’s leadership expectations through your integrity, empathy, and inclusive approach. You lead by example, inspire trust, and create an environment where people can be their best.
