Offer description

The main responsibilities of the post‑holder will be to file clinical letters received in Docman, code relevant information from patients clinical records into the partnership computer system and action documents, working strictly in accordance with the partnership document management protocol. The role will include working at or for all five surgeries.


Main duties of the job

The role includes:

* Filing clinical letters into the patients electronic record
* Coding patient records, following receipt of hospital letters
* Notifying relevant staff and organisations, following receipt of information from external organisations
* Actioning requests within documentation relating to our patients’ care
* Understanding the patient record system, recall, coding and reporting requirements for QOF
* Understanding the impact of clinical and non‑clinical data input
* Ensuring organisational and individual KPIs are met
* Duties commiserate with level of responsibility and aim of role
* Auditing and reporting where required

Wyre Forest Health Partnership: One successful and ambitious health partnership working at scale together to provide high quality innovative patient care, delivered by a valued and respected team. WFHP has been operating since December 2014 as a single partnership, operating out of 5 surgeries, 3 of which are purpose built. We operate at scale and are at the forefront of primary care delivery in how we organise ourselves, having management and leverage for a large number of primary care employees (≈250 people & ≈50 GPs). We also look after ≈72,000 patients. We have a very strong quality improvement ethic and are always looking to improve. WFHP is working towards the NHS goals to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions as soon as possible. We actively encourage new staff to take an interest in this and build sustainable practice into their roles.


Person Specification


Experience

* Computing skills (Microsoft Office/Excel)
* Literate & able to perform numerical calculations
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Good knowledge of Read coding and QOF
* Experience of working within primary care or a GP surgery


Personal Attributes

* Able to work as a team player and work independently
* Highly motivated
* Flexibility
* Ability to work across boundaries


Qualifications

* Maths and English at GCSE level (or equivalent)
* AMSPAR Level 2/3 in medical terminology
