Lombard Medical Centre is a well-established, forward-thinking GP practice with a strong reputation for high-quality patient care. We are a supportive, innovative, and friendly team, serving a diverse patient population from our modern, purpose-built premises in Newark.

We have a team of 8 GP Partners and currently 4 salaried GPs who would be happy to share their experience of working at Lombard with you.

We are looking to welcome a dedicated Salaried GP to our clinical team. We offer a positive and collaborative environment where you can thrive professionally and personally.

Main duties of the job

Your Role:

Provide high-quality, patient-centred clinical care

Participate in duty doctor rota and clinical meetings

Support continuity of care and proactive management of chronic conditions

Engage in continuous improvement and quality initiatives

Option to take on a clinical special interest or teaching role if desired

Job responsibilities

Clinical Duties

Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations for acute, chronic, and preventive care.

Provide clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and appropriate referrals where necessary.

Manage long-term conditions in line with QOF, local, and national guidelines.

Prescribe medicines and treatments in accordance with evidence-based practice and legal frameworks.

Undertake clinical procedures within scope of practice (e.g. joint injections, minor surgery if applicable).

Carry out home visits when required.

Provide timely and accurate documentation of consultations and care using the clinical system (e.g. EMIS, SystmOne).

Participate in the duty doctor rota and urgent care provision.

Administrative Responsibilities
* Review and act on pathology, imaging, and specialist reports.

* Complete medical reports, forms, and referrals as required.

* Support with repeat prescribing and medicines reconciliation.

* Contribute to audit, quality improvement initiatives, and significant event reviews.

Team and Practice Development
* Attend and contribute to clinical and practice meetings.

* Supervise and support the training and development of students or junior staff (if applicable).

* Participate in continuing professional development (CPD) and maintain revalidation requirements.

* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, pharmacists, paramedics, and allied health professionals.


Person Specification


Qualifications

* - MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* - MRCGP (or working towards it)
* - Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
* - Included on, or eligible for, the NHS England Medical Performers List
* -Experience of working in primary care, including during GP training
* - Ability to manage a broad range of acute and chronic conditions
* - Evidence of safe prescribing and decision-making
* - Strong consultation, diagnostic, and clinical decision-making skills
* - Knowledge of QOF, NICE guidelines, safeguarding, and best practice in primary care
* - Competence in using electronic patient record systems (SystmOne)
* - Understanding of the structure and challenges of the NHS and general practice
* -Patient-centred, empathetic, and approachable
* - Highly organised and able to prioritise workload
* - Resilient and able to work under pressure
* - Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice
* -Eligibility to work in the UK
* - Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive healthcare
* - Willingness to participate in shared clinical rotas (e.g. duty doctor, on-call as agreed)
* - Additional postgraduate qualifications (e.g. Diploma in Women's Health, Dermatology, etc.)
* - Flexible and adaptable to meet evolving service needs
* -Participation in quality improvement or audit projects
