Overview
Clinical Support Worker - WINTER PRESSURES role at Make It Count Marketing. This position is advertised for the Winter period and the posting reiterates the role title as above.
University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for Band 2 and Band 3 roles in line with UKVI guidelines. Graduate visa holders may apply, but UHNM cannot offer sponsorship at the end of the graduate visa and the start date must allow at least six months before expiration for training and operational reasons.
The role of the Band 2 Clinical Support Worker is flexible and requires providing support across a wide range of service/functions. Staff may work variable hours week to week within agreed limits. The post holder will work according to a locally agreed Code of Conduct for Clinical Support Workers.
Key Responsibilities
* It is expected that ALL employees of the Trust will participate in the annual appraisal process, with the first appraisal within the first 6 months from appointment.
* Communicate and report any changes or information relating to the patient to the Registered Nurse.
* Communicate appropriately with patients and visitors to the Ward or Department in a professional and respectful manner.
* Receive patients, visitors and staff in a calm, friendly and efficient manner.
* Exchange information with patients using reassurance, tact and empathy.
* Overcome barriers to understanding for patients with physical or mental disabilities.
* Undertake training packages relevant to the healthcare setting and on-going training as determined by the Trust and line manager.
* For all new Clinical Support Workers, complete the Care Certificate within 12 weeks of issue.
* Complete Corporate and Care Coach Induction within the first week of employment.
* Work towards completion of a vocational qualification in care as agreed in the PDR.
* Respond to and report patients’ condition in a timely manner, including judgments involving facts.
* Hold basic keyboard skills.
* Dexterity to undertake nursing care procedures as appropriate.

* Willingness to engage in mandatory training and induction programs.
* Basic keyboard skills and manual dexterity for nursing care procedures.
