A well-established care provider is seeking dedicated Support Workers to join a specialist supported accommodation service supporting individuals facing homelessness and complex needs.
This service provides high-support accommodation for individuals who may be experiencing substance misuse, mental health challenges, or multiple disadvantages. You’ll be part of a supportive team helping residents build independence, manage risks, and move towards more stable living.
Key Responsibilities
• Support residents with daily living and independent living skills
• Assist individuals with complex needs including mental health and substance misuse
• Promote wellbeing, safety, and harm reduction approaches
• Build positive relationships and provide person-centred support
• Maintain accurate records and support plans
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies
• Manage challenging situations calmly and professionally
Requirements
• Previous experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant or Healthcare Assistant
• Experience supporting vulnerable adults, ideally within homelessness, mental health or complex needs settings
• Comfortable working long day and night shifts
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach
• Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
• Good understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care
• Right to work in the UK
