The job itself
Driffield Church of England Infant School is a good school set in the beautiful market town of Driffield. We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our lovely team.
This post will suit someone who has some working knowledge of serving food, ideally from a school meals setting. The ideal candidate will desirably hold a minimum of a food hygiene certificate and allergen awareness, or be willing to attend courses to gain the necessary knowledge and skills and will have exemplary standards in cleanliness, both personally and within the kitchen
You will be need to be a team player who is flexible and can work to a high standard without supervision. You will also possess the appropriate skills to work with and communicate with young children.
The job involves assisting the cook with preparing lunches, serving, clearing away, washing up and cleaning the dining room following lunch, all to a very high standard.
We are looking for someone who is flexible to ensure cover in the absence of colleagues, but the hours are typically 12:00pm – 1:30pm Monday to Friday (term time only).
