Associate Structural Engineer
Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. Full‑time, salary £70k–£75k per annum.
An experienced, hands‑on designer who can run projects and lead design teams is required to join our reputable practice. Projects are varied with a focus on light industrial buildings such as specialist warehouses, sheds, portal‑frame buildings and data centres for major clients. Successful candidates will have a proven track record in these types of projects, a love for problem solving, and a strong value‑engineering mindset.
Essential responsibilities include:
* Design and deliver structural solutions for complex light industrial projects.
* Lead and mentor design teams throughout the project lifecycle.
* Collaborate with clients, contractors and other disciplines to achieve project objectives.
* Apply best practice in value engineering and cost control.
* Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards and client specifications.
Required qualifications and experience:
* Acting or qualified Chartered Structural Engineer.
* Experience in warehouses, specialized industrial buildings, portal frames and data centre design.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent communication and team‑leadership skills.
* Valid UK driving licence is advantageous.
