Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, supervise staff, and contribute to the creation of memorable dining experiences in a professional hospitality environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food safety, managing food production, and supporting the Head Chef in daily kitchen activities.

Duties

* Assist the Head Chef in planning and developing menus that meet quality standards and customer preferences
* Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
* Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, presentation, and quality
* Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations and company policies
* Maintain stock levels by monitoring inventory and placing orders as necessary
* Organise workstations for efficient workflow and cleanliness throughout the kitchen
* Support the team during busy service periods to ensure timely delivery of orders
* Uphold food safety standards by implementing proper hygiene practices and conducting regular cleanliness checks
* Assist with the development of new recipes and menu items in collaboration with the culinary team
* Serve as a role model for professionalism, teamwork, and culinary excellence within the kitchen

Qualifications

* Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment
* Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings
* Previous restaurant experience demonstrating proficiency in high-volume food service
* Excellent organisational skills with an eye for detail in food presentation and quality control
* Ability to work under pressure during peak service times while maintaining composure
* Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
* Passionate about cooking fresh comfy food.

Pay: £14.50-£15.50 per hour
